RIR's eye color

I have several RIR chicks and they have hazel colored eyes. the pic I saw of onefrom cackle has red eyes. Does the eye color vary or change as they get older? or could mine not be 100% RIR?

mine had the hazel eyes also. Could the red have been from the camera flash?

The eyes change to a deep orange as they mature.

I hope they change as they get older... all of ours are about 6 weeks old, and they're pretty docile! One of our roo's named Fluffy, is so tame, you can pick him up, filp him on his back and rub his belly! He just stretches his legs out! he's a cheese ball!
