Rural King recently added their line of non-GMO feed, RK Naturals, to the shelves but I haven't found any information or reviews on the feed quality.

The immediate downside is that there is no date on the bags.

Does anyone have experience with it?

Why does the 21% starter say it's for chicks up to 3 weeks?

Judging by the calcium percentage, on the starter label, it can be that it is ideal to provide slightly less in the beginning then later. Most all purpose feed has a 2% calcium content. Some vary slightly. If you are using that for laying hens, then you need to supplement their calcium needs with oyster shell, or crushed limestone grit as well. The higher protein value may be ideal for quick growth and feathering out. The layer feed does contain between 3 and 4% calcium and 17% protein, Which is the ideal formula for most laying hens.
You may not have any reviews on the feed (non GMO) due to it being relatively new addition. [IMG]

I have been using the layer for about two months now, and I love it.
I don't know if it was just the feed or the feed and lighting factors together..... But I recently took in some red star hens that were molting (a lot) and within a months time they are now fully feathered and laying.
