Road Island Red chick leg color?

Hello all. I have been incubating and hatching my own chicks for a few months now. I've noticed that my RIR chicks (the ones that come from both my RIR roo and a RIR hen) have different colored legs. Like some of them have yellow legs, and some have gray legs, like some EE's. Is it from the roo's bloodline, maybe? He was a rescue, so I'm not sure where he came from. My adult red hens I bought from a feed store as babies. I'm not worried, as they are all healthy....just curious. Thanks!

(I think) that yellow is dominant to green leg color, and hatchery reds often have interesting genetic backgrounds. It won't matter except to show their checkered past! Mary
