Role call! What age did your chickens start laying??

Most will start between 4-10 months based on breed and time of year.

5 months for the first groups...and the chicks of those chicks are starting as early as 4 months.

Mine started between 20 and 24 weeks...
Orpington , speckled Sussex , Danish Brown and EES...

I always have some starting by 18-20 weeks. Chicks are usually hatched in April. Most are laying by 22 weeks. Breeds through the years were Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Sex Links, EEs, RIRs etc. This year I have a mix of EEs, Partridge Rocks & Australorps, so it remains to be seen!

What breed?

EE's covered by EEs and a Cuckoo Marans (I believe he is) Some of the Old English Game were laying a bit earlier too.
