Looks like one of each. The multi-colored bird in the back is a rooster, the white bird in front looks to be female.

    How old are they?

If they are point of lay they both could be female. The darker one looks female to me, and the white one is definitely female.

I know that darker one has a larger and redder comb, but I do not see any saddle or hackle feathers.

The white one is a female, but the darker one is definitely a rooster. He exhibits patchy coloring and red on the wings, two typical rooster traits. Also, he has a tall stance, a red comb, and thick legs.
