this is " hammie" my olive egger chick. She/ he is about 4 months old now. I'm hoping its a hen... But there are some shiny feathers coming in on the neck. She/he does now crow yet and gets spooked easy at times. I have another chick the same age who is a little roo, he crows a lot. Any thoughts would help greatly... Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Do you know why he isn't trying to crow like the other one?

He's definitely a rooster. Some roosters just mature slower than others, and take longer to begin crowing. If your other rooster is dominant, that, too, can prevent a less dominant rooster from feeling like crowing.

Definite rooster. The crowing will come, he's just slower to mature than others. 4 months is still pretty young.

Thanks everyone for the help! I think 3 out of 4 Of my chicks are Roosters... Lol Is it Hard to find homes for extra Roosters?

Rooster.

Yes, it can be hard to find homes for extra roosters, in many areas. Unless they are rare breeds, you may have to almost give roosters away.
