Roo or pullet?? 12 wk sussex

This 12wk old light sussex is keeping me guessing. I thought from 3 weeks that it was a clear hen. I just went away for 2 weeks and came back to its comb and wattles significantly big and redder. More then the other pullets, less then the roos. I settled on it being a roo. But then I saw one of the roos try and mate it?! So it's a hen???

Also, do you think its a pure bred light sussex? I got these chicks from a neighbour and they weren't sure of the exact breed. Out of 6 chicks, 4 are clear light sussex cross barnevelder, 1 is a pure coronation sussex and then this one - possibly pure light??

Thoughts?

He's a cockerel, and I think looks pure, but I'm not quite sure.
