I have a salmon favorelle roo and an assortment of others (girls). The last few days I have noticed sweetcheeks has started to peck the girls on their lower back to get them to move or "just because". What is he doing? They're all 16 weeks old. [IMG]

It sounds to me that he simply has developed a bad habit; some hens and chicks are known to do this too. I would put a wire partition in the coop to give the hens some reprieve, or try applying some "stop-plucking" ointment, which can be purchased a feed store. If this is allowed to go on, other hens may join in and eventually kill the victim.

Hmm, I was wondering the same thing. he's been chasing the girls all morning. I was going to keep him if she stayed timid... Guess I may need to find him a new home. [IMG]
