Discovered my Coronation roo with one eye shut. I put in some eye medicine for 3 days and it didn't help. Yesterday I put in another eye med for a yeast infection for eyes, and this morning his eye was somewhat open but draining a lot of puss....At the beginning his eyeball was all red like the inside of the eye lid. Today I could see some iris but the puss is oozing out like crazy.

Any ideas? I'm about at the end of my rope as he is banging into things and loosing feathers, from molting I would say, but he looks terrible and I'm afraid he is going to hurt himself.

I have him in a small 4 x 4 coop, but maybe should put him inn a dog crate?

He should be isolated away from other chickens since he may have a respiratory disease. Mycoplasma G., coryza, infectious bronchitis, and others can cause this eye swelling and pus discharge. Does he smell really bad? That could be coryza. If not you might treat for mycoplasma G. with Tylan 50--give 1 ml by mouth or as a shot into the breast muscle daily for 5 days. He does not have a respiratory disease. Just the one eye with pus. I know that giving an antibiotic either by mouth or injection will not help the eye. It needs something to put directly into the eye I think.
