My blue banty had 7 eggs today we were out there working and the roo pecked into one of the eggs and they both started eating it we took the egg away and took the roo out well the crazyest thing happened the barred cochin in the pen beside them(can;t see each other) pecked a foster egg in his hens nest and started eating it so got the egg out and the cochin roo. I just today give the hens some oyster shells, anybody got any ideas on this crazy behavior. the cochin has foster eggs from my sweet SWD thst passed away.

Once they get the taste for it, it is sometimes hard to break the habit. The Roo was probably just being nosey and cracked it. You may need to make it so they cant get to the eggs after the lay them or take them out immediately. Good luck.[IMG]
