Rooster and hatching rate

Hi everybody! I have a simple question: at what age, do you think, a good rooster should be replaced by another (young) rooster in order to maintain a high hatching rate?

I would say as soon as one of his sons looks better than him if breeding to SOPs.

I guess it depends on your plans. Do you sell chicks? Show birds? Just want replacement in your flock? Do you free range and need his protective services?
