Have a silk rooster that has been sitting on a nest for 3 days straight so far. Why is this? How can I get him to stop?

I have heard of roosters sitting on eggs before, he could just be checking it out for the hens to make sure it's okay for them. Are you sure he is sitting on the all the time? Sorry I have no idea how to get him to stop.

Do you have the rooster to raise chicks? If so, there is a thread on here about "Broody Roosters" and how they act by a poster named Centracid. It's very interesting and informational. It's a daily observation of the rooster and hen with the chicks. You might want to check that out. I'll see if I can find the link.
