Ok, I'm new to this chicken thing! I have 11 Hens, and just found out my 12-th one is a rooster. They are 16 weeks old, and my Rooster is chasing the girls around like crazy, grabbing the back of their neck. Is he horny. lol ! Help?

This is, indeed, the mating behavior of a adolescent rooster.

Does that mean I should be getting eggs soon? This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I have also noticed that before when I used to spend time in the coop with them, the girls would jump on my lap, and spend time with me, now they don't! Is he showing them I'm no longer the Alpha? lol

If you see the hens squatting before he mounts the should be really close to laying . Right now the rooster is full of testosterone , ( excuse me) horny and showing dominance.
