Rooster comb.. What's wrong??

Was it cold where you live? It could be frostbite, but I have no experience with it because I live in Florida and it never snows here. If it wasn't cold, then it could just be scabs due to him getting in a fight with another chicken/animal.
 
I would bet it's frostbite. The best treatment is to do nothing. Don't put any salve on it, don't touch it. The dead tissue will turn black and eventually fall off. That can take several weeks. I had a rooster who got frostbite on his comb and wattles twice. He had black "edging" on his wattles until April.
