Hi all,

I have a year old Black Copper Maran rooster (I've had him for about 6 months) and I discovered he has a large portion of his underside that is bright red and really weird wavy type looking bumps on parts on him.

All other hens and roosters are doing good- no signs on redness or bumps like his.

Sorry for the crummy photos- fella does not like to be held upside down.

A good soaking bath with dawn dish soap would be my first step then a dusting with seven or permethrin dust.
I’ve been able to get rid of the visible mites, I’m wondering if it’s not scaly let mites or depluming mites or something different? My whole roosters upper legs and most of his underside is red inflamed and bumpy. It’s been not great since I got him about a year ago but the one upper leg caught my eye today and it seems to be even bumpier...I just wish I could figure out what it is to treat it and although I can find other threads like this one, no one says exactly what caused it. I’m thinking I’m going to soak legs/inflamed bumpy area and then apply neisporin ointment or Vaseline just to try something
