Rooster/Fertile Eggs

Hey everyone i just found this site today its amazing so i hope someone can help me out i just put roosters with my adult hens on monday so roughly 5 days ago i was wondering how long will it take for my eggs to be fertile so i may place them in the Incubator?

I would observe your roo to make sure he is doing his job, then wait a couple of weeks and crack open a few eggs to check for blastoid disks.

Thanks! i broke one open today and the top of the yolk looked like it had wrinkles or something on it and white string looking things coming off the sides didnt know if that meant anything.

Speckled hen has a link to show what a fertile and infertile egg looks like. you have to look for a bullseye bloodspot.

So what are the white string type things? i have never before seen these in my eggs so its very confusing to me the only other odd thing i seen was on th side of the yolk a tiny round white circle im just curious because i dont know.
