This is a weird situation that I wanted to share and see if anyone has had this experience.

I have a 4 yo rooster that has had increasingly more difficult time crowing in the past 6+ months. It started with him straining and letting out a croak or a squeak the first time and then successfully crowing on the second try. He had more difficulty with time. Now he stopped crowing altogether, he tries, visibly strains, but nothing comes out.

He is not showing any other symptoms and is healthy otherwise - big red comb, eats like a champ, poo is normal, never sulks or gets moody, feathers ok, prrotects the flock, mounts the hens regularly, does all his roostery business. He has no worms, mites, discharge from eyes/nose/vent, etc. He is perfect in any other way except he cannot crow despite trying.

Can this be just age? Maybe some form of cancer although shouldn't there be other symptoms by now, it has been more than 6 months?
