Our rooster was in a fight with a dog. He seemed okay, and does not have visible wounds. We took him inside and he seems to be having less energy. He will drink some water but is not eating. One of his eyes he will not open.

This is day three after the dog fight.

Any suggestions or ideas, good or bad?

Have you tried opening the eye to make sure he still has one?
I am sure not being able to see out of one eye would impact his energy, perhaps even his willingness to eat since he can't see as well.
Definitely make sure his eye was not permanently damaged. If his eye was punctured or gouged out, you will need to make sure it doesn't get infected.
I had a roo get knocked in the eye once by a hen (ha) and he kept it closed for a day or two due to a bit of swelling. During that time he had very little energy and seemed a bit pouty, but after a couple of days he was all better and back to normal.

I did not know that there were bird vets, so I took him in yesterday. Got an antibiotic shot and iv for fluids, and sent me home with antibiotics and cream for wounds to his tail end, chest and wing (none serious). vet said in three days we will see big improvement or see him going downhill. got home and his right eye opened back up.

This morning he was eating a mush my wife made up of purated broccoli, tomatoes, garlic and other goodies, eating on his own and drinking water on his own. He is perkier and looks 1000% better.

I would have to say the iv for fluids and antibiotic shot were very very key.
