Rooster or hen?

We have two SLW that are about 7 weeks old. One has a smaller tail than the other and I was wondering if it is a rooster. The combs on both are basically the same and the wattle on the one with the shorter tail is only slightly larger. Where we live we cannot have roosters so I would like to find out asap!

Welcome to BYC - we will need to see photos of the birds to be able to begin to identify gender for you. It is best to take photos in natural lighting (light from heat lamps, distorted with flash, etc can distort characteristics like the color of comb/wattles, etc which are considered in gender id) and showing the birds in a natural, standing position from the side as well as a clear photo of the comb and any wattle development.

Is this certain? I want to be sure since we can't have roosters where we live.

he's getting alot of comb for 7 weeks, could wait a couple more weeks to be sure.
