rooster or hen??

    hi all,, i`ve recently been given some chickens.i was told they were all hens but today one of them started crowing..was wondering if it could be a rooster????

    If its crowing then the chances are it is a rooster even though some report of having hens that occassionally crow.
    Can you post pictures as it might help.

    If it crows, it is 99% of the time a rooster. Sometimes you will get the occasional hen that has a gender identity crisis. Not very common from my understanding though [​IMG]

    I also have a roo that doesn't make an actual crow. It sounds like a loud HOOOOOooOOo - all the motions of a crow though.

    My guess is that the white one is a rooster the brown def. a hen.

    I really don't know , but someone will come along and tell ya, are his legs white or yellow, hard to tell on my monitor.
