Rooster or Hen

If a Rooster dances around another chicken does that make it a hen? Or will a Rooster dance around another Roo? I have one that I'm thinking is a Roo but it hasn't crowed yet I'm really hoping it's a hen with a big cone. Then I saw a Roo do a dance towards her/him should I be hopeful?

If you post a pic of the bird in question I"m sure someone will be able to tell you what it is. Behavior can be randon. I have a dominant hen who has been seen doing "the dance" to another hen. She also crows. She also lays eggs.

You can also look for stringy hackle and saddle feather's, sickle feathers in the tail. These things however are dependent on the birds age. If he's young he won't have them yet.

Roosters will do "the dance" to another rooster,as well as hens.

I was afraid you would say that. I did post some picks and a few people said looked like a Roo because of the larger cone. Its a Silkie so they seem to be harder to tell. Thanks for the replys I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.
