I heard that when a bird is sick in the flock, that it is pecked by the other members. My rooster pecks one of my hens a lot. Is this normal, or should I be worried. Please I need help.

Is she bleeding? If so, then you need to separate her, for her sake.

If it isn't bleeding-bad, then I would lean towards waiting it out, assuming she has no other symptoms.

I am by no means a vet or expert, but if there are no other signs of illness, I wouldn't be worried at all. The hen might even be the roos favorite?

Normal behavior.

If any bird gets wounded, though, the others may start pecking/picking at it making it worse. You'll sometimes have to separate birds if this happens. Other than that, your rooster is just showing them who's boss.

Also, when roosters first learn to mate, they're pretty crap at it. I find until they get their rhytym, they'll be pulling and tearing at the hen's heads moreso than they will later on when they find their mojo.
