Earlier I posted that one of my 8 hens is afraid of my rooster. At that time I didn't know why but i have now been witnessing him picking on her. He singles her out. If I am handing out treats he will chase her off. He really doesn't want her anywhere near him. They are 22 weeks old and have all grown up together. He is mating with some of the hens but I have not seen him mate with her. Does anyone have any idea why he picks on her?

How long has it been going on?

I don't have any roosters but lately, maybe the past month or so, my flock has been full of drama. I have 6 chickens and it seems they are all taking their turn at being the biggest butt in the flock. This morning I watched one of my BSL get bullied by a RSL, well that same BSL had been horrible to everyone just a week or so ago. I think it's just hormones.

It's been going on about 2-3 weeks. I hope it's just a phase.

Is he allowing her to eat and drink?

Yes, but she has to do it when he is not around.
