    My Coop
    Hello,

I have 4 hens and a rooster that are just about 18 weeks old. I just opened the nest boxes in the coop. I had blocked them off until now, so they could not start sleeping in there. I have placed a golf ball in each nest. I noticed today is that the Rooster kept pecking at the golf balls. Is this going to be an issue? Do you think he is just curious and will stop this? Or do I need to be concerned about the eggs once they start laying?

    Thanks for your assistance!

Usually they will all peck at whatever you put in there a little. Exploratory pecks. It's just how they explore their environment. Normally they're not real hard pecks and they lose interest quickly.
