Hi I had a rooster given to me 6-8 months ago, he looks to me a bit like a RIR but he has blue feathered legs. I'm guessing he is a bit of this and a bit of that but keen to hear anyones thoughts. (I live in Australia)

I also have one of his chicks. The hen that laid his fertilised egg was sold to me as an Isobrown, but I think that is just the produce stores name for any red sex-link hen. The chick has two dark lines running down the back, is this what is referred to as a chipmonk marking? I don't have a picture of it's back only a side profile but I added it below as well.

Thanks for any ID help you can provide
    :)

    This is Big Red Raymond.

The chick sitting on her surrogate 'mum' which i think is a sussex x white leghorn.

He a mix breed for sure. He MIGHT be some kind of a RIR cross. IDK. The chick is cute! Here is a photo of my RIR mixed chick on the left standing on the food plate.

Your black and white hen might be a Lakenvelder cross.

he's a very neat mix, your hen might be a pure light sussex what color are her legs? most mixes that involve a white ear-lobed bird tend to have some color if not a flat white earlobe so I don't think she's mixed with a leghorn

    Thanks everyone :)

The chick is indeed very golden. I just grabbed a few more pics of the white hen (so you can see her legs) and the chicks back and feathers...

I know i should make my own thread but this seems relevant- Is my RIR rooster(that's what he was sold to be as) crossed with anything??? When we got him my family and i reckon he may have a bit of frizzle in him because of his feathering and he is VERY dark much darker than most RIR's Iv seen.

    Hers is "RED".lol.
