About 6 weeks ago one of my pet roosters was diagnosed with pnemonia. He was given cefazolin sodium injections and recovered. Now another of my pet roosters is hanging his head and exhibiting similar symptoms. I have medication left in the fridge still and I was wondering would it be safe to administer to him and put him on the same regim as the other was on? I cant afford to take him to the vet, and he is 7 years old. Would this do him harm or help him? He is a much loved pet and I am afraid to just administer an antibiotic without taking him to the vet first, but his symptoms are so similar to the other. Is there anyone out there who knows about these things?

if it were my bird, I would give him the med.

if you have any doubts..why not call the vet and check?
is this an avian vet?

please describe all symptoms..
does the roo have mucus in eyes or beak?
are eyes swollen or wet?
does he have breath sounds(wheezing/rattling)?
anything you can think of..

Do you have enough for a full course? I would call the vet if you do not and ask for another RX as I see no (direct) reason for you to take your bird in again seeing as how you say the symptoms seem to be exactly the same,
