Is there such a thing as rooster stud service? For example, if someone is in a location that does not allow roosters, but wanted to try their hand at hatching eggs one day. I was just curious if anything like that existed for chickens. TIA!

I've never heard of it. But my main concern would be the spread of disease. If you were to stud out your rooster, you have no clue what kind of bacteria he could come in contact with. A person can come across some fertile eggs easy enough these days.

BIOSECURITY!!

I had a neighbor sell me a rooster and asked if she could come get him from time to time to service her girls... I told her NO!

Never heard of that and wouldn't give it a go either considering possible health issues. Who knows what the rooster has? If you want to give hatching a try you can purchase hatching eggs. You can look local, or get them of some of our lovely breeders here in byc.
