Hi All,

My rooster is stumping me again.
This morning when I let the girls out I noticed my rooster acting a little funny.

He was standing on one foot and did not like to use his other foot.
I picked him up and notices that some of his toes are swollen and that he
has a red splotchy rash on the under soft skin of his foot.

it is not bumble foot from what I can tell. It is something else, almost like an irritation.

does anyone know what I can do for him to help him heal? should I put something on his foot
or is it possible that he will be able to shake it on his own.

Thanks

Poultry Dermatitis, I would never have thought. also vitamin deficiency. thanks so much for post the links.

I read the articles. It did not say what I should do to treat the determines besides clean the coop. I keep my
girls very well kept so the liter is not an issue as far as I know. but I was wondering do you know if there is an ointment that I can
put on his feet to make him feel better?

Thanks again for the links.

Hmm if it were me I'd spray some Blu Kote on it- but I don't know what the optimal thing to use is. Also I'd give him some poultry vits.
hi, I am not sure what to use either. I use the deep litter method so I don't think that the litter is the problem.
The littler is dry and in good condition. the flock free ranges, so they are out on fresh grass most of the time anyway.

I did put some bits in their water this morning, hopefully he gets better.

Thanks Again.
