Rooster with Testicular Tumor

Hi everyone. Need some support. One of my babies, a 3 y/o rooster, was diagnosed today with a testicular tumor. I took him in for a change in voice and greenish/yellowish diarrhea for 3 days. The avian vet took an X-ray of him and diagnosed him with the testicular tumor. He treated him with a deslorein implant. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience with this? If I lose him I take solace in that I am not sparing any expense to give him a fighting chance.

Did the vet have any idea as to how aggressive the tumor is? This dashing boy may well surprise you and the vet and live out a normal life span if the tumor is slow growing when deprived of hormones.

Oh no! I'm so sorry, I hope he gets better. Just know if your lose him you tried your best and gave him the best life you could. he'll be in my prayers.

Thank you for your reply. No, he didn’t say but soon we will find out as he will repeat the X-ray in about 1 month. Time will tell. I guess I’ll find out at that time.

Hello. I just lost a rooster to this and i found out with a necropsy. What were the signs? I'm devastated that we didn't notice anything before he died.

I'm so sorry. I know I am going to be devastated when the two roosters I have now pass. The sweet ones really get into your heart.
