Hello just a quick question. Couple days ago I noticed My RI Red rooster was limping.. Looked at his foot and he had a cut on his toe. Not sure he cut it.. Was not bleeding at the time. Today I noticed the toe was bleeding. I caught him to inspect injury again and the toe now looks like it is nearly severed. Called vet and they will not treat a chicken. I doctored up the injury cleaned it applied ointment and Bandaged.. That was a task lol.. Can he survive if the toe falls off? I dont want him suffering. TIA

Yes, chickens have no problem surviving with one toe gone. What you need to watch out for is infection that could spread to the rest of his foot, so keep an eye on it keep it clean.
