Roosters 5 claws

Don't know if this is in the right place, but when do Roosters get their 5th claw and are there signs of this as my new chicken that we want to be a Rooster has a little bump on either leg so does this suggest that it is infact a Rooster?

You mean the spurs, right? That wont come till around 8-9 months, maybe later. Both sexes have that bump, sorry. Oh, and some hens have spurs, too. Here's my only hen with spurs-they're like pencil erasers, but definitely spurs. I should have said that most breeds only have four toes, including the roosters. There are five-toed breeds, but I am thinking you are referring to the spurs, which are not toes.

The bird in question is a Light Sussex s/he is only 13 weeks so we've got a long wait
