Hello, I was just wondering. Do roosters fertilize eggs their whole life? Or do they stop being able to fertilize eggs at a certain age?

Some roosters remain fertile throughout their lifetime. Others may become sterile or have diminished fertility. Loss of fertility in my experience is most common in inbred families. Some older roosters develop physical problems and have difficulty covering hens.

No certain age. My last rooster quit giving me fertile eggs when he was 6 then quit doing his duty all together about 6 months later. The vigor of his chicks was lacking toward the end.
