I live in a residential area where chicken keeping is very popular. My backyard backs up to 4 backyards. There are 2 roosters that I can hear calling in the mornings. Are my chickens (i don't have a rooster) going to try to escape and go join that sexy rooster down the street?

Probabaly not.Their probabaly just crowing. They could be trying to impress...If they hear your hens it may only cause troubles for them and your owners....

    Hens could careless about roosters...

Thank goodness! One of the roosters crows constantly all morning. I like the sound, but I worry that the chickens do too ;p

I bet the hens find the sound interesting but they will *definitely not* swap their food & safety for any rooster, no matter how sexy he may be!! Lol... [IMG]
