Just wondering if layer feed has any effect on the maturation rate of roos.... I have an EE roo that seems to be growing slow, wondering if the layer feed (Purina Layena) has any type of hormones or anything that might be affecting him,or my other 2 roos ? I am wanting him to hurry up & grow up & do his Thang w/ his 12 girls.... any idea?
    Thanks!

I don't know if it has any effect on fast they mature or not, but I feed Flock Raiser because I don't like my roos to have all the extra calcium that's in layer feed. It's hard on their bodies since they can't get rid of it like a hen does.

Yes, I just keep a dish of oyster shell out for the hens.
