Roosters Laying in Bedding

So I have two roosters (one 2 years old and the other about 8 months old). I’ve noticed a strange behavior out of them and thought at first it was just a weird thing my older boy did, until his son started to do it. Right after I change out the bedding in the coops both of the boys (from what it looks like) make a nest on the floor in the new shavings. They make little noises while doing it too. Sometimes they stay there on the floor for a bit but the hens never reuse the nests. Is this a normal behavior? Are they saying thank you?

Sounds like your boys are telling the girls "it's safe here", "you can raise our chicks here".

My rooster does that sometimes, he will go into the nesting box, sit down, and make tid bitting noises.

My roosters do that. It seems like they are showing us they appreciate having their chance to enjoy that fresh fluffy bedding.

Good roosters will show the hens likely nesting sites.

The hens don't always agree with them.
