Roosters or hens? What breed??

    We got 13 chickens from a neighbor, who only could tell us that they are all 'mixed heritage breed'. We think there must be some Ameraucana or Araucana mixed in there...but can anyone tell me if they are roosters or hens, and what breeds you think they might be? They are 16 weeks old..

    All those birds you have pictured are cockerels. Most look to have easter egger in them. The only one I'm not sure on is a solid black bird, can't see it well in any of the pics but it doesn't scream roo. Everyone else does. Looking back, the white bird in the back in the second to last pic could be a pullet. But all those flashy, colorful guys with darker or red wings are boys.

    I agree. All the mixed colored ones are cockerels. The two black ones are pullets.
