We've got a 10wk rooster whose primary feathers are dragging. He lays down much more, not able to flap his wings. He is eating and drinking but the area of the covert primaries is severely bruised. I can't tell if its broken. Should it be splinted? Should I isolate in a protected area? How long do you think it will take to heal.
If you are not sure where the covert area is its the first joint that the primaries attach to.
We are not sure how he got injured.
Thank you.
