Is there a sure fire way to determine which are (coturnix) roosters? I have 10 (from 2 separate breeders). I have different color birds. Does size have anything to do with it?

If you look at the vent, there should be a bump. squeeze it, if foam comes out voila.

If you hear crowing, that's another tell tale

Well, if they are adults.

How old are your quail?
Which type of quail?
What colors?

There are a lot of different types of quail that people here raise. j. Coturnix, c. Coturnix, Bobwhites, etc.
