Rose is nesting...five eggs in the nest as of this morning...yesterday there were four and as I walked in the building where her nest is to count them, there was a rat snake with one of the four eggs in his mouth...maybe a third to a half of the egg...he was a pretty big rat snake...I stepped on his tail and he spit out the egg...Rose went after him all hissy and mad but the snake escaped through a crack...I went to check on her this a.m. and close to the nest was a headless, very dead, rat snake...he came back for eggs...big mistake...Rose was huffing and puffing and stomping around like she had just won WWIII single wingedly...woe be unto he who crosses the mighty Rose...she is the one in the back with the white head...

Oh my gosh, I feel so proud and she's not even my duck! lol

Way to go Rose! And good quick thinking for you to step on the snake's tail. I'm not sure if I would have had the courage to do that.
