Hi, I have 6 little 5 week old rouens, this are my first ducks so I dont know much about ducks, so my question is, I was outside today watering my back yard and the ducks came up tome, there starting to get their real feathers in but I notice thats there about three of them that on their heads you can see some green feathers shining through, My question is, is this normal? Do all rouen ducklins get this or is it just the males? I try taking pictures but the greenish wouldnt show on the pics, ( crappy camera phone) thanks in advance.

I raised 4 last year. I was hoping for 3 females and 1 male (ideally) or at least 2 and 2.

At about 5 or 6 weeks, I think I recal, I noticed that 3 of them started getting lighter beaks and legs and greenish cast/sheen to the feathers on the head -- sure enough, 3 males, one female. At about 6 to maybe 8 weeks (I think but don't quote me on it) they start to grow the "drake feathers" on the tails.
