Greetings! I'm COMPLETELY new to this entire idea, but thought I'd give it a shot.

In looking to be more sustainable and limit the hands on my food, I'd love to raise a couple chickens with love to provide my little family (partner and a dog) with delicious eggs!

We are about to move to an apartment in Vista, CA and I'm curious about what the local restrictions are. Anyone have any links or information?

I would start with this web site. If that doesn't have the information then look at the health department and see what they say.

Quote:Your city's web site has the code. Look under the animals section. Might want to check the zoning to see if they are allowed in multiple-family dwellings. If you aren't sure even after researching it, call city hall or animal control.

Not sure how many people on here would think apartment dwelling chickens are a good idea, though.
