Could anyone suggest a ground cover for a chicken run that is safe for the chickens and will keep the soil from being moist all the time?

Welcome! Fixing any issues with drainage is very important, then adding a solid roof would be great. Deep bedding with shavings and/ or mulch works fine too. Mud is not helpful! Mary

Is there any particular type of bedding that you would recommend?
