    Hey,

I am a new mother to two Rhode Island Red chicks, I've never had chickens before so am a little nervous! The two chicks are about 2 weeks old & are living in a homemade brooder inside my house. They are both quite chirpy, but one occasionally passes quite runny poo compared to the other - kind of a dark mustard colour of runny consistency.

Otherwise she seems fine - very active, drinking & eating plenty. They seem warm enough- they're not huddling under the lamp or pushed out to the side of the box, just moving about freely. Is this normal or is it the sign of an underlying problem?

From a worried first time mother....

The link above is great! I was going to go find it and recommend it to you and then I saw that Wordgirl already posted it!

    Wow, thanks!

Never before have I looked so intently at a page of poo...
