My 5-6 week old chick is 24hrs into a course of nystatin. I haven't seen much improvement yet, so as I was massaging her crop, I noticed there is air under the skin.
I researched and found about air sacs. My question is this. I was massaging her very carefully and gently. Did I do this, or is it possibly causes by the sour crop, or possibly the cause of the whole issue?
My husband is getting hypodermics and supplies as I type for me to deflate the air bubble.
Any info advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated

No I can't. The only one who agreed to see a chicken anywhere near me is an exotic "avian specialist" who charges more than my rent for "office fees, exam, and blood work/diagnostics".

However this is not an air in the crop situation. This is MOST definitely a ruptured air sack. It was leaking air and bubbling up her skin and pushing her crop foreword. It was ballooning out from behind her crop. I punctured it and it deflated like a balloon in my hand (the exact way everything I researched said it should), and she is actually seeming better than she has in almost a week.

Hi, I just had this happen with a baby pigeon. First, a noticed inflated skin like a balloon but definitely under the skin not the crop a day later the birds got sour crop and died. I don't know the answer but you are not alone.
