We just got home from a week away for the holiday, we left our furry and feathered kids with a sitter and everything went great. We let the flock put of the run for some much needed free range time and went about our business getting things squared away around the house.
Well, i was in the kitchen and looked out the window to check on everyone and saw a hawk land on the highline, I immediately went out to check on everyone and round them up....when I got them safely into the run and was counting heads....my onery Rebel was missing
After a search we found her... Murdered by the hawk
I know we run that risk by letting them free range but it is still devistating to lose one of our own. I guess the free ranging will be cut short for now....it is just too cold for me to stay out with them to guard against hawks.
Sorry I just needed to tell someone
