I lost two yesterday and another one this morning. It's not too awful cold in the coop, since the waterers aren't freezing, but it's pretty darn cold anyhow.
At least they've had 7 months of life, fresh air, sunshine and freedom that they wouldn't have had otherwise.
    Still makes me sad. [IMG]

ETA: I cannot heat the coop, to the detriment of the layer birds. It is what it is.

[IMG] You did a good thing, rescuing them. They don't live that long but they still deserve a good and happy life. I'm sure if they could thank you, they would.

Quote:Mercy is fine, as is Grace and Hope. The one that died this morning was Dolly, so named because of the size of her breast meat.

You've done fine by them. Heating the coop would only forestall the inevitable. They had a grand trip at your farm!

    Awwwww. < sniff >

You gave them a loving, peaceful, happy life and they gave you so much pleasure. That was a good and admirable thing you did.
