I was going to treat with Valbazen but TSC doesnt carry it anymore. So I got Safe-Guard paste. I did some reading and am now seeing some different dosages. I gave them all a pea sized amount on bread today. Now what? Treat again in 10 days or I saw a 5 day in a row suggestion. I am treating for tapes.
I also tried to give them Worm out gel, and they had some. Maybe a half gallon or so ( 13 birds ) but werent having any more. So I switched it up to this.

    Thank you!

Praziquantel would be better to use for treating tapeworms.
Here's the wormers that contain that and the correct dosages.

Fenbendazole might treat certain species of tapeworms dosage is the same whether you use liquid or paste - dosage is by pound. So...it's 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally for 5 days in a row.

There are quite a few threads and information out there stating to give "pea size" dose, we know have more information! Measuring the paste (or liquid) and weighing your birds helps ensure you are giving a proper dosage. My idea of what a "pea size" is, is probably different from yours so anytime you can be more precise the more effective your treatment will be.

I tried to use prazantaquel but can only find paired with ivermectin or in the wormout gel I tried to use and they refused. I actually took a frozen pea and placed it next to each dose, which I put on a small square of bread and rubbed into it.

Just for kicks - you may be interested in this post - as you can see, not all frozen peas are the same size as well. This is why measuring/drawing up the correct dose would be the better thing to do. https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...ooping-roundworms-help.1141528/#post-17748451

I know a lot of people put the paste on bread and birds may not eat it or their neighbor may snatch it.
Go out early before they get up, grab each bird of the roost and give them the medication orally (see the link, it also has a video)

Wormout Gel or Equimax is what you want to use to treat tapes

Since I already gave them safe guard, I’ll re dose it in 10 days and wait out the withdrawal period and asses it then. Hopefully it works!

Safeguard given once, then repeated in 10 days, I believe will only treat roundworms.
If you are dealing with tapes, then I would get the wormout or equimax and go from there.
