A few days ago I went out to the coop and did some touch up paint work (using an exterior satin latex) on the vent coverings we just installed. The areas did not seem to be accessible to the chickens but somehow our white EE, aptly named Trouble, managed to get green paint on a few of her feathers. My question is this: should I just leave it be or is there some safe way of cleaning her up? It isn't a huge amount although she does look funny with dark green paint edging a few of her feathers. She is already low chicken on the totem pole and I don't want her pecked any more than usual.

My 2 1/2 year old hen Bluey got her name after....you guessed it...rolling in coop paint. I washed off as much as I could with plain warm water, but the rest stayed with her (mainly on her breast) until she molted.

I'd leave it. My Welsummer got paint all over her head and it came off over time. I fugured it was more trouble than it was worth trying to wash it off.
