knowing flock will have to be penned till my other pets gets used to them? overly concerned ? or just jump in. I have a local feed source though not sure how much it will cost yet I also have to build a pen w run

We have 11 dogs, 11 cats, 50+ layers, 3 goats.... They all get along well. Just need to be around and yell at the dogs if they seem aggressive. The chickens seem to bully the cats lol!

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad you joined. Our cats were afraid of the chickens and the dogs just like chasing them but then they were taught not to hurt the chickens. :thumbsup

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan :D

It really depends on your dogs. you will want to have a secure area for the chickens regardless, as there are many predators that will take advantage of your chickens if they are left out loose.
