This is Cody, my 4 year old Saint. He has recently appointed himself as the guardian of my 4-5 week old BO chicks. If they get loud for any reason he is at the brooder checking them out and barking at them. He will also keep my 4 year old German shepherd, Nicco, away from the brooder. I don't mind because I was toldbe the trainer that Nicco has a high prey drive so addressing it is something I constantly reinforce with him. (Leave it, mine, obedience stuff)
I'm really hoping that Cody is just guarding them NOT as a food source. That has not really been an issue up to this point.
